Human Emotional Interface

SIGNAL is a hybrid interface that senses human reactions beyond the screen and creates the feeling that AI truly understands the user. It addresses the limits of interactions where emotions dissipate unreflected, restructuring breakdowns in expression to deliver more accurate outcomes.

시그널은 화면 밖 사용자의 인간적인 반응을 센싱하고, 사용자를 이해하는 AI가 존재한다는 감각을 만드는 하이브리드 인터페이스입니다. 감정이 반영되지 않은 채 허공으로 휘발되는 기존 상호작용의 한계를 해결하고, 답답함 속에서 무너진 사용자의 표현을 대신 구조화하여 보다 정확한 결과로 이어지도록 합니다.

Overview

We live in an era of constant conversation with AI—faster and more advanced than ever, yet something feels off. Despite repeated attempts, it often feels like our words don’t reach. We sigh, try again, sometimes raise our voice or repeat in silence. But none of these emotions reach the AI. We call this [Talking to a Wall].

우리는 지금, AI와 끊임없이 대화하는 시대에 살고 있습니다. AI는 발전했고 속도는 빨라졌습니다. 그러나 어느 순간 우리는 묘한 감각을 포착했습니다. 수많은 요청과 응답이 오가며 말하고 있지만, 닿지 않는 느낌. 결과가 마음에 들지 않을 때 한숨을 쉬고, 이를 악물고, 다시 요청을 입력합니다. 기대와 다르면 목소리가 높아지고, 아무 말 없이 반복 하기도 합니다.하지만 이 모든 감정은 AI에게 닿지 않습니다. 우리는 이 현상을 [Talking to a Wall]이라고 부릅니다.

The Wall era

Even between people, when words don’t connect, it feels like talking to a wall. We experience the same in our interactions with AI. As AI responds without understanding our emotions, it creates the same sense of frustration. AI keeps growing, yet our feelings still dissipate into empty space. We call this era of emotionless interaction [The Wall Era].

사람과 사람 사이에서도 말이 통하지 않아 답답한 순간, 우리는 벽에 대고 말하는 기분을 느낍니다. AI와의 상호작용 속에서 우리는 같은 감정을 경험합니다. 사용자의 기분을 모른 채 대답하는 AI의 결과는 벽과같은 답답함을 느끼게 합니다. AI는 점점 더 거대해지지만 감정은 여전히 허공으로 휘발됩니다. 감정이 반영되지 않는 상호작용의 시대. 우리는 지금 [The Wall] 시대 속에서 살고 있습니다.

Target

In the Wall Era, some people actively express emotions that AI fails to reflect. We call them [Emotional Expressors]. The problem begins here: in an emotional state, they must hold onto their rationality, analyze the issue, and reformulate their requests to the AI.

The Wall 시대 속에서 AI에게 반영되지 않는 감정을 허공으로 적극적으로 표출하는 사람들. 우리는 이들을 [Emotional Expressor]라고 부릅니다. 문제는 여기서 시작됩니다. 이들은 감정적인 상태에서 스스로 이성의 끈을 잡고 원인을 분석해 AI에게 다시 요청해야 합니다.

Problem

Because AI requires a step-by-step, incremental structure to reach the desired result, it is difficult to rationally reorganize that structure while feeling frustrated.

원하는 결과를 얻기 위해 AI를 점진적으로 쌓아올려야 하는 계단식 구조의 특성상, 답답한 상태에서 이성적으로 구조를 재정리하기란 어렵습니다.

Emotional Layer

SIGNAL intervenes at this exact moment. People no longer need to suppress their emotions or keep them inside. Express them—confidently and actively. Expressing how you feel is a deeply human trait. SIGNAL positions itself as an [Emotional Layer] between people and AI.

시그널은 바로 이 지점에 개입합니다. 사람들은 더 이상 감정을 억누르거나 속으로 삭히지 않아도 됩니다. 당당하게, 그리고 적극적으로 표출하세요. 자신의 기분을 표현한다는 건 굉장히 인간적인 태도니까요. 시그널은 [Emotional Layer]로서 사람과 AI에 사이에 포지셔닝합니다.

Walking into the AI

We are naturally stepping into a vast AI world—one we cannot avoid. As AI grows faster and more advanced, people feel both expectation and anxiety. So where can we lean? SIGNAL creates the sense that, even within these massive systems, there is a space that understands our emotions.

우리는 지금 거대한 AI 세계로 자연스럽게 걸어가고 있습니다. 이 흐름은 피할 수 없습니다. AI는 더 빠르고, 더 정교해지고, 어쩌면 우리보다 더 뛰어나지는 미래는 당연한 수순일지도 모릅니다. AI의 거대함 앞에서 사람들은 기대와 동시에 불안을 느낍니다. 그렇다면 우리는 어디에 기댈 수 있을까요? 시그널은 AI의 거대한 시스템 속에서도 나의 감정을 알아주고 이해해주는 영역이 있다는 감각을 만드는 프로젝트입니다.

3 Hybrid Interface

Some may hit the desk, shout, or crumple something to hold back their boiling emotions. These human signals are translated into three distinct interfaces.

누군가는 책상을 치고, 소리를 지르거나, 부글부글 끓는 감정을 참기 위해 무언가를 꾸길 수도 있습니다.
이러한 인간적인 신호들은 세 가지 인터페이스로 전환됩니다.

1) Barbarian

Barbarian is an interface for those whose hands act before words. It senses pressure and physical reactions, capturing expressions like pressing, squeezing, or slamming.

바바리안은 말보다 손이 앞서는 사람들을 위한 인터페이스입니다. 압력과 물리적 반응을 센싱합니다.
누르거나 쥐어짜거나, 쾅치는 듯한 감정 표현을 담아낼 수 있습니다.

2) Shouter

Shouter is an interface for those who release tension through their voice. It senses direct speech and breath. Equipped with a highly directional microphone, it can be placed on the desk for everyday use, or detached—allowing users to shout or whisper softly into it.

샤우터는 입으로 탄식을 자아내는 사람들을 위한 인터페이스입니다. 직접적인 음성과 숨소리를 센싱합니다. 샤우터는 초지향성 마이크로폰으로 평소에는 데스크에 올려놓고 사용하지만 분리하여 소리치거나 귓속말 하듯이 작게 속삭일 수도 있습니다.

3) Smolder

Smolder is an interface for those who hold in boiling emotions. At a glance, it looks like a regular mouse pad, allowing users to avoid attention. It senses heart rate, vibration, and subtle pinch-like micro gestures.

스몰더는 속이 부글부글 끓지만 터트릴 수 없는 사람들을 위한 인터페이스입니다. 얼핏보면 일반적인 마우스 패드처럼 보여 이목이 집중되는 시선을 피할 수 있고 심박수나 진동 그리고 핀치 포인트를 꼬집는 듯한 마이크로 제스쳐를 센싱합니다.

On -Device AI Core

The core on-device AI is concentrated in a small central module, allowing the sensing unit to be freely interchangeable. This lowers the barrier to purchase and enables users to choose configurations that fit their environment and preferences.

온디바이스 AI의 핵심 기술은, 가운데 작은 구에 모여있어 센싱하는 스큡을 자유롭게 바꿀 수 있습니다. 덕분에 사용자의 구매부담을 낮추고 사용환경이나 성향에 맞춰 다양하게 선택가능하도록 합니다.

Fit your style and context

The three SIGNAL interfaces can be chosen based on the user’s personality and environment. Barbarian suits private spaces with more physical expression, Shouter fits shared spaces where vocal expression is common, and Smolder is ideal for environments where emotions need to be expressed subtly.

시그널의 세 가지 인터페이스는 사용자의 성향과 사용 환경에 맞춰 선택하면 됩니다. 개인 작업실처럼 비교적 자유로운 공간에서는 책상을 치는 등의 감정 표현이 가능한 만큼 바바리안을, 오픈 작업실이나 친구들과 함께하는 공간처럼 소리를 지르거나 한숨을 내쉬는 정도의 표현이 일반적인 환경에서는 샤우터를 추천합니다. 또한 회사처럼 감정을 드러내기 어려운 상황에서는, 부글부글 끓는 감정을 조용히 해소할 수 있는 스몰더를 사용하는 것을 추천합니다.

Push AI

Once these signals are collected, someone needs to speak on behalf of the user to the AI causing the frustration. That’s where [Push AI] comes in. It translates the user’s emotions into a rational structure that AI can understand.

각각 시그널들이 수집됐다면, 사용자를 답답하게 만드는 AI에게 대신 말해줄 사람도 필요하겠죠? 이때 [Push AI]가 등장합니다. Push AI는 사용자의 감정을 AI가 이해할 수 있는 이성적 구조로 번역합니다.

Invisible

When an AI causes frustration, expressing emotion through SIGNAL brings in Push AI. In invisible Caustics Mode, it reads the context and refines the request. What seems like a simple reaction actually contains structured conditions — automatically organized by Push AI.

사용자를 답답하게 만드는 AI가 있을 때, 시그널에게 감정 표현을 하면 푸쉬 AI가 나타납니다. 평소에는 사용자의 눈에 보이지 않는 커스틱스 모드로 이전 대화의 맥락을 파악하여 사용자의 요구사항을 구체화시켜줍니다.사용자가 보기에는 단순히 꾸짖는 것처럼 보이지만 드래그를 하게되면 감정적인 상태에서 쓰기 어려웠던 구체적인 조건들을 대신 정리해 작성해준 것을 알 수 있습니다.

Toward Personalized AI

In the future, the boundaries between roles and disciplines will blur, and everyone will work alongside AI—expanding the user base. People will move beyond “talking to a wall,” actively expressing emotions that accumulate within SIGNAL. It will become the first hybrid interface bridging the Wall Era to the age of fully automated AI.

앞으로는 직무와 전공의 경계가 허물어지고, 모두가 AI를 곁에 두고 활용하게 될 것입니다. 이 흐름은 더 넓은 사용자층으로의 확장을 가능하게 합니다. 사람들은 더 이상 벽에 소리치는 존재를 넘어, 적극적인 감정 표현을 통해 시그널에 경험을 축적하게 됩니다. 시그널은 The Wall 시대를 넘어 AI의 과도기를 지나, 완전 자동화 시대로 나아가는 첫 번째 하이브리드 인터페이스가 될 것입니다.
